Please do the assignments in order 
since they build on one another.

All of the paper-based Quarter 3 assignments need to be turned in
by 3 PM on Friday, April 6 so that I will be able to grade them and
enter them in PowerSchool by the grade deadline next week.  
All of the vhlcentral.com activities and the two (Preterite practice
regular -ar ending verbs #1 and Preterite practice of -car, -gar, -zar verbs #2)
multiple choice assignments that I posted on Google Forms
for the week of March 19 need to be completed by the end of homeroom
on Monday, April 9.

In order to complete your work for Monday, March 19,
you will need to go to classroom.google.com
and follow the instructions for today.

All of you should be able to access the page 
since all of you had used the correct access code
when you joined the class on Google classroom in October.

1.  Complete the vhlcentral.com activities that have been assigned for today.
        You will need to find the tan paper that you received in class yesterday.  
The review of estar and prepositions of location from level one are listed on the front.
On the back of the tan paper, you will use the list of additional prepositions and adverbs
to use with estar.  These are the ones that will help you with the new textbook series and
activities on vhlcentral.com.

If you do not have the tan paper, the forms of estar are listed in the Grammar Presentation of estar.
Also, the verb chart is listed in the textbook on page 59.  
The prepositions of location are listed in the textbook on page 60.
If you need to borrow a Descubre 1 textbook during class, the books are on the top shelf 
of the bookshelf that is located next to the door.

Remember that sometimes you might have to leave your verb in the
infinitive (unchanged) form.

C.  Read the beginning of the sentence that contains the subject, 
form of estar, and feeling word.  Match it with the best completion 
of the sentence that explains why the person is feeling that way.

          You will need to use a white vocabulary list that you have in your folder.  It contains a photocopied family member vocabulary list from Ven conmigo on one side.  On the other side, you will use the vocabulary from Descubre.  Look in the sections for Familia, Otras personas, and Profesiones.  If you do not have the list, click on the blue Vocabulary list link that is at the top of the first activity. 

2.   Then work on the assignments that are "overdue" on your dashboard.

The qualities that most teenagers look for in a friend in Spanish-speaking countries are similar to the qualities that teenagers look for in a friend in the United States.

In most Spanish-speaking countries, students and other family members return home to eat lunch together around 2 or 3 in the afternoon.  Lunch is the main meal of the day.  They rest or take a nap after that.  
Then they return to work or to school and stay until later in the evening.  Therefore, dinner is going to be eaten around 9 at night.  It will be a light meal.  After that, many people will go out to meet with friends, which might not be until 10 or 11 at night.

B.  Reading - Read a note and then select the best word to complete each sentence.  Review adjectives and adjective agreement rules.  

C.  Fill in the blanks of a conversation with forms of tener in the present tense.  These are located on a white worksheet that has a large 1 at the top.

D.  Explain how the family members are similar to one another.  Keep the same meaning, but change the form of the adjective to agree with the new subject.  Remember to review adjective agreement rules.

E.  Based on the capital city of origin, explain each person's nationality.  There is not a word bank.  However, the eight that you might see will include argentino, boliviano, chileno, cubano, dominicano, panameño, peruano, and español.  Remember to use the correct form of the adjective.

F.  Culture
The Euro is used in Europe.  How many Spanish-speaking countries are in Europe?  Therefore, how many Spanish-speaking countries use the Euro?

Spanish-speakers are diverse in appearance.  That means that not everyone looks the same.
