Brett Michaels is a 1994 graduate of Shikellamy High School and a 1998 graduate of Susquehanna University. Upon graduation, Brett earned a B.A. in English with a minor in Education. In the fall of 1998, Brett began teaching English in the Danville Area School District. In the summer of 2000, Brett finished his Master of Science in Education through Marygrove College. Since that time, Brett has added additional coursework and credits. He continued teaching in Danville for seven years before accepting his current teaching position with the Shikellamy School District to teach communication arts at the high school. Furthermore, Brett served as a coach in the Shikellamy wrestling program for eleven years after coaching at Danville during his first three years of teaching. Currently, Brett coaches at the college level as the Assistant Coach at Lycoming College and has been fortunate to help resurrect and sustain a nationally-ranked program. During Michaels' tenure at Shikellamy, the Braves won the District 4 AAA team duals title for four consecutive years and six of his seven years as head coach. The high school team also won the District 4 AAA Individual team title for four consecutive years. Furthermore, the Braves advanced to Hershey for the PA AAA State Dual Finals in 2009 and went 2-2 there to finish as the 7th ranked AAA dual team in the state of PA. Cumulatively, Michaels' teams compiled an overall record of 84-35 at Shikellamy. Brett has received the honors of Coach of the Year from District 4, the Daily Item newspaper, CSC Conference, and Heartland Conference each multiple times thus far in his coaching career.
