Course Expectations



ESL Course Expectations

 

ESL is a course for students whose primary language is not English.  The goal is to assimilate these students into the English language and the American culture through listening, speaking, reading, and writing.  The main purpose of ESL is language development in order to become independent learners. Additional goals of ESL are cultural education and integration into the community.

 

   Students are expected to continue to acquire the English language through the use of classroom activities and experiences available to the students. 

   Students are expected to exhibit appropriate cultural behaviors and interactions.

    Students are expected to participate in class and do all required assignments.

 Students are expected to come to class prepared and to follow classroom and school rules
