Meet Señorita

My name is Kristen Leary and I am a first-year teacher at Shikellamy High School.

To briefly introduce myself, I grew up in Philadelphia and relocated to the Susquehanna Valley when I began studying at Susquehanna University. I graduated from SU in May 2016 and received my B.A. in Spanish along with my Instructional I teaching certificate.

During the 2015-2016 school year, I was a student teacher at Shikellamy High School and taught Spanish 1, 2, and 3. I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to continue working at Shikellamy and am anxious to see what's in store for this school year.

Aside from my studies at Susquehanna, I also lived in Seville, Spain for eight months. While I was there, I taught English as a Teacher's Assistant at Centro Norteamericano, was a private English tutor for students of various ages, and also studied at la Universidad de Sevilla. Having these experiences makes me confident in my abilities in both teaching and the Spanish language, and I am excited to share my experiences with my students.

I am looking forward to a memorable school year!
