Meet Señorita Leary

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Machu Picchu, Perú

My name is Kristen Leary and this is my second year teaching at Shikellamy High School.

To briefly introduce myself, I grew up outside of Philadelphia and relocated to Central PA when I began studying at Susquehanna University. I graduated from SU in May 2016 and received my B.A. in Spanish. Currently I am working on my M.A. in Educational Leadership with an emphasis in Instruction through Immaculata University.

Aside from teaching, I also enjoy doing photography and traveling. I have been to twelve different countries, three of which were Spanish-speaking. Here you can find some of my pictures from different Spanish-speaking countries I have visited.

I lived in Seville, Spain for about eight months in 2014-2015. During my stay, I was an English teacher at Centro Norteamericano, I studied at la Universidad de Sevilla, and was a private English tutor for local families. These experiences made me confident in my abilities to teach and speak Spanish, and I look forward to sharing these passions with the students and families of Shikellamy High School.
